التسوّق عبر الإنترنت هو وجودُ مخزنٍ من المُمكن شراءُ كل شيءٍ منه بسهولة من خلال جهاز الحاسوب أو الهاتف المحمول، وغالباً يُوفّرُ أفضل أنواع المُنتجات للمُستهلكين. يُعرف التسوّق عبر الإنترنت أيضاً بأنّه البحثُ عن مُنتجٍ ما عن طريق زيارة الموقع الإلكترونيّ الخاص بالمتجرِ او التطبيق الخاص به، ومن ثمّ إعداد طلب الشّراء للحصول على المُنتجِ المطلو ومن التّعريفات الأُخرى للتسوّق عبر الإنترنت أنّه مجموعةٌ من عمليّات البيع والشّراء التي تشملُ على العديدِ من أنواع السّلع كالمنازل، أو الثّياب، أو الأجهزة الإلكترونيّة، أو الإكسسوارات بأنواعها، وغيرها مِنَ المُنتجات الأُخرى.
يُعتبرُ التسوّق عبر الإنترنت من أكثر الطُّرق الحديثة تأثيراً على قطاع التجارة العالمية إذ ساهم في تطوّرِ العديد من الوسائل والأدوات التجاريّة عن طريق الانتقال من التّجارة التقليديّة إلى التّجارة الإلكترونيّة الحديثة، والتي اعتمدتْ بشكلٍ كليّ على استخدام شبكة الإنترنت، كما ساهم التسوّق عبر الإنترنت في توفير الوقت والجهد على المستهلكين، وساعدهم في التعرّفِ على طبيعةِ المُنتَجات المطروحة في السّوق. يعتمدُ التسوّق عبر الإنترنت على مجموعةٍ من المُتطلّبات التي يجبُ توفيرها حتّى يتمكّنَ المُستهلك من التّعامل مع هذا النّوع من التسوّق بطريقةٍ صحيحة، وعليه كذلك الالتزامُ بالنّصائح الخاصّة في التسوّق؛ حتى ينجح في القيامِ بعمليّة الشّراء الإلكترونيّة بطريقةٍ صحيحة، وضمن درجةٍ عالية من الحيطة والحذر.
